Forgetting Travels

Have you ever visited somewhere as an adult only to have no recollection of it later? A place that is worth remembering, not a fuel stop along the road, that you have seen while fully sober and with no mitigating health factors? A moment in time completely erased from your memory?

I went to Stratford, England, in 2003. I have a handful of (really awful) pictures to prove it, but absolutely no stories to tell. What does that say about a place, for it to have such a low impact that my mind has rendered it unseen?

I remember more about a hotel my family spent the night in 20 years ago on our way to Alaska than I do about where Shakespeare was born.

Shakespeare’s house (I think?)

Please tell me I’m not alone in this phenomenon. I can’t think of any other time it’s happened, but, then again, I wouldn’t remember, would I?
