Thursday Through the Lens: Tate Britain

Today’s Through the Lens is a little different than usual. I wrote a post yesterday about Tate Britain‘s upcoming After Dark program, where users throughout the world would be able to steer a robot through the Tate galleries at night. I decide to try it out for myself last night.

Unfortunately I was never given command of a robot (they were randomly assigned to people across the globe), but I did get to see what the Tate looks like at night, creepily illuminated by robotic lights. The live feed was narrated by two Tate employees, who laughed a bit as they tried to decipher what we were looking at in the dark. The After Dark program will go on again tonight at 5 PM EST and continue every night through Sunday.
